The Lion King is not only a popular animation with a setting in the Kingdom of lions in Africa, it is an African story. African children grow up on different variations of the same story; the eagle saved by the farmer and so comforted with the chicken that it forgets its ability to soar is one such closely relatable narratives. Simba needed an awakening, so does the eagle needs reminding that it is no chicken.
These stories are cornerstones to our raison d’etre. We bear that touch of illumination and lead great enterprises and individuals to realize their full potential as lions, eagles or whatever their royalty may be.
We began as Eagles’ Wing Foundation in 2005 when the founder had the opportunity to teach at a Junior High School in a small town in the then Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. AfricaLearn started as a campaign to develop extracurricular learning activities which will aid the total development of the African youth.
The early days of the idea saw the Foundation organizing seminars and learning events in several Junior and Senior Schools in the same region. The idea took a different shape in 2015 and it became ‘Speakers-Hub’, training people on Leadership and Communication. Speakers-Hub sought to build communities of influencers and to focus on social transformation.
It, however, became clear that learning was the only gateway to that transformation. Not schooling necessarily, but a true education borne out of learning. That knowledge led us to incorporate AfricaLearn.
AfricaLearn was officially born in 2017 with a clear guiding agenda to further the transformation of the business ecosystem following the collapse of UT Bank and Capital Bank where the founder worked. We published our first book following the banking crisis and have remained the first and only publisher on the subject. We have subsequently published a second book on leadership and social culture.
AfricaLearn represents positive change and transformation. Our goal is to partner organizations, professionals and individuals in solving the issues that plague them through an Action Learning Approach.
We exist as advisors to leaders by creating the enabling culture and structures necessary for the future they envision. We build trust, develop products, manage uncertainties, optimize finances, and develop the skill sets necessary for our partners to become that Lion King.
AfricaLearn is movement, a community of learners that have expertise across multiple industries and we represent a revolution for the new African Dream of wealth, dignity, influence, collaboration, purpose, health and above all things wisdom.
